Pacipic (TDS) is not just a sport bike racing tournament. But also a powerful tool to promote tourism in West Sumatra.
"Day Festival is not just a sport, but also the promotion of nature, culture, and the Minangkabau society. There are even people from the Tour de France who told me, was the landscape of West Sumatra, such as Switzerland, the difference was no snow," said Director of Marketing Kembudpar, Sapta Nirwandar in TDS 2011 launch event at the Hall of Soesilo Sudarman, Gedung Sapta Enchantment, Jakarta, Friday (05/20/2011).
TDS 2011 will take place on June 6 to 12 next. One of the unique TDS is Curved 44. Curved Sapta said there were only 44 in West Sumatra and the only one in the world. "People who have cycled there told me, twisty turns 44 this most challenging, even more than the challenge," he said.
He hopes that this corner could be famous and some are willing to try how sharp Curved 44. Winding 44 is located in Agam District. Sapta adding that participants can get through this maze will be awarded special prizes from local governments Agam District.
"Participants will see Minangkabau culture, heritage hereditary, it could eventually become their appeal to Indonesia. Not to mention the culinary highly promising and challenging. Anyone who has never tried to feel the cuisine of Padang," he said.
Governor of West Sumatra said Irwan Prayitno owned West Sumatra tourism potential should be promoted as a result of tourism will provide economic impact for local communities.
